Past two decades witnessed an intensification of genetic research which attempted to engage with different aspects of Jewish history – DNA analysis was thus employed to cast light on the formation history of different Jewish communities around the world. The aim of this paper is to consider the naturalizing tendencies of what became to be known as 'Jewish genetics’ in a new analytical light by putting academic scholarship that has explored the sociocultural significance of DNA research conducted among Jewish communities in dialogue with postcolonial theory and recent science and technology studies research on the concept of genomic sovereignty.
