Former PRSS Postdoctoral Fellow Ezelle Sanford III Joins Carnegie Mellon Faculty as an Assistant Professor

 

Dr. Ezelle Sanford III, a PRSS postdoctoral fellow from 2019-2021, is now an Assistant Professor of History at Carnegie Mellon University. As a fellow, Ezelle researched the history and legacy of enslavement and its relationship to the institutional development of the Perelman School of Medicine, medical education, and the production of medical knowledge and practice. Ezelle earned his Ph.D. in History and History of Science from Princeton University in 2019. He specializes in the history of modern medicine and public health, African American history from emancipation to the present, and twentieth-century United States history.
