Hafeeza Anchrum, a postdoctoral fellow in PRSS, received the Marion R. Gregory Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Nursing. The award recognizes the most outstanding doctoral dissertation in the field of nursing. The nomination received the support of three faculty members, and it was considered by doctorally prepared professors at the School of Nursing. Hafeeza earned her PhD in nursing from Penn in December 2021. Her dissertation examines hospital desegregation through the perspective of Black nurses who trained and worked at Philadelphia's Mercy Douglass Hospital and School of Nursing between 1948 and 1960.
