Sorting Brains Out: Task, Tests, and Trials in the Neuro and Mind Sciences

On September 18-19, 2015 Penn's History and Sociology of Science (HSS) Department held a 2-day conference on the neuro and mind sciences. Participants discussed the social, philosophical, political, and ethical commitments that have been reflected, reinforced, denounced, or discarded by the psy- and neuro-fields, and explored to what extent, if at all, contemporary conceptions of mind and brain prolong and elaborate much older ideas. PRSS was one of the cosponsors for the conference, and PRSS Postdoctoral Fellow Oliver Rollins participated in the conference as a panel chair.
